The reason that this page is called 'Good News' is that we really have some good news that we want to share with you. We believe in a loving God who cares deeply about people, and who wants to be involved in every part of their lives, we feel that this news is so wonderful that we just want to tell everyone about it. If you only remember one thing from this website, then let it be this: GOD LOVES YOU. Whoever you are, whatever you’ve done, God loves you more than you’ll ever know, He created you, He understands you, He is there to help you, and HE LOVES YOU. |

Not only does God love you, He is completely good, there is no bad in Him, none at all, He is perfect. The trouble is, we are not, you’ve heard the saying ‘nobody’s perfect’, well it’s true. We all do things in our life that are wrong, you know the sort of thing…that little ‘white lie’…snapping at the kids…gossiping…sometimes much bigger things… The name for all the wrong things that we do, however big or small, is ‘sin’.

There are consequences to sin; even the smallest amount can mess up our lives (much as even one drop of black ink can ruin a white shirt). Sin can have a really destructive power in our lives. However hard we try, we cannot stop ourselves from doing things that are wrong. The Bible calls this being a slave to sin. Sin is a barrier between God and us because He is perfect and pure, and cannot be near to sin. Lastly, there is a penalty for our wrongdoing, the Bible calls this ‘death’; we will remain separated from God when we die instead spending eternity in Heaven with Him.

The good news is that God has given us a way out of this; He knows that none of us are perfect, and remember, GOD LOVES US. He is on our side, He wants us to be with Him in Heaven. |

We believe that Jesus is God’s son. Jesus came to live on earth as a human 2000 years’ ago, and He was executed in his thirties by crucifixion. Jesus chose to do this, and by dying, He removed the consequences of sin in our lives. He paid the penalty for our wrongdoings instead of us, and He broke the power of sin over us and removed the barrier between us and God, so that we are free to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. |

At this point, you may be asking ‘What’s the catch?’ After there’s no such thing as a free lunch these days, and people rarely do something for nothing. There is no catch, God did this for you because He loves you, He allowed His Son to be executed on a cross for you. He did this so that you can go free, which means that if you believe in Jesus, you will go to Heaven when you die.
The Good News doesn’t end here. Jesus came back from the dead, and is alive today. You can talk (pray) to Him, you can know forgiveness and freedom from guilt for all the things you’ve done wrong, and Jesus can be a very real part of your life, -helping you through this life on earth before you meet Him in Heaven. All you have to do is believe in Him.
