Heading; Homegroups
A picture of cells.Every week we meet in small groups of around ten people in people’s homes. We think of these groups as the basic building blocks in the Family Church, much as cells are basic building blocks in the human body. Home group is a place where people can build friendships, find support, grow in their Christian faith, and have fun!
Heading: Faith

Our home group meetings give us a chance to explore our Christian faith further. When we meet we often begin by spending some time worshipping God. We then have a time of learning about, and discussing what the Bible says about how we should live our daily lives. Everyone is encouraged to join in these discussions, (but you don’t have to if you don’t want to). We also pray together about different people and situations, and we pray for each other .

Heading:Friendship

Home group members often meet up at other times during the week. For example, the mums with younger children like getting together, giving both them and their children a much needed chance to socialise. People may arrange to have a meal together in the evening or at at the weekend. The men meet up to play sport, or just go out for a drink. Recently two of the more energetic guys went cycling around The Isle of Wight together for a weekend!
Heading: Support

We are encouraged to support each other and help each other out as much as possible. For example, one home group recently took the chance to help each other out with some DIY. Other groups have provided meals for families with new babies, helped out families when mums have had to go into hospital and, of course, we pray for each other, both in home groups and through the week.
Heading: Fun

We often all meet up for meals together, either with or sometimes without the children. Curry, Italian, and fish and chip evenings have proved popular, as well as shared Sunday lunches, barbeques, walks, beach volleyball and tea on the beach. Rumour has it that one group is planning a ‘sing along Grease evening’ with brownie points for those arriving in fifties’ costume!

Heading: An Invitation.

We warmly invite you to come along to one of our cell groups, where you would be made very welcome. If you would like to do this, then please contact us to find out the cell group that meets at the most convenient place/time for you.
