Love is in the Air

Our annual open-air
Family Fun Day
was held at the bandstand on Christchurch Quay on 25th May.
The event was entitled "Love Is In The Air", and included:
live music - well-known love songs and some lively Christian songs
face painting - Bouncy Castle - a real Fire Engine
'Falcon High' bird display
A special visit from our local bobby

We held our 2008 event following our Sunday service. All eyes had been on the local weather forecasts - driving wind and rain had been promised for some days!! Oh, the joys of 'open-air' meetings.... However, after an early light shower, the weather brightened up and by lunch time we were enjoying bright sunshine - so, prayers do get answered! The quay was quite busy with residents and visitors enjoying the Bank-Holiday weekend sunshine. It seems that everyone enjoyed the music and activities, and heard how God is relevant in our lives today.

Here are a few pictures of what went on........

Over the years, we've heard a number of real-life true stories told at public events - including a young mum, whose four year old nearly died of pneumonia. These stories show that God is still relevant in the world of today, and in the lives and hearts of individual people. You can listen to what Paula had to say by clicking on the links below.

How do you face your worse nightmare?

What happened to Paula must be every parent's worse nightmare. Her four year old daughter had a cough and cold like her other children but it deteriorated, and she was rushed from one hospital to another, eventually ending up in intensive care in Southampton General fighting for her life.
