The Bethesda Project near Salem, Tamil Nadu, India has a school, an orphanage and two churches. Our Elder Jason Evans has friends called Steve and Bethie Devaraj working out there.
The school was set up in the 1970’s to provide a balanced quality education to tribal children, who don’t usually get an education. The children are aged from 3 to 15. The vision of the project is to grow to 25 children per year group, and for the growth to be from children who live in remote inaccessible areas, (for whom boarding facilities are provided). The project also cares for and supports orphan destitute children in a loving environment. It aims to love and nurture these children and raise them to be happy & secure.
The two churches hold regular Sunday service, house visits and evangelism, and to this end they have just sent someone to Bible College. |
